​Dr. Takashi Takao is an associate professor in the drama & theatre area of Tokyo Gakugei University. He graduated from the University of Tokyo in 1998 and received his M.A. in 2000 and Ph.D in 2004 at Hitotsubashi University.  His research interests include drama & theatre education and impro (improvisational theatre). He has been facilitating impro workshops in many locations, such as schools, theatres (including Za-Koenji), companies, and community and welfare centres. His book "Impro Education: Does Improvisational Theatre Develop Creativity?"(Filmart, 2004) has been called an innovative work in the field of impro and education in Japan. He is also a co-author of "An Introduction to Drama Education"(Toshobunka, 2010), "Drama Methods for Changing Learning"(Shunposha, 2010), "Creative Action for Changing Daily Life"(Filmart, 2004) and so on. He is a facilitator and performer in his impro group, "Improlabo".
